Time is only a measurement, but what does it measure and what is the foundation.
The foundation of time is movement and change.
Έπεὶ δʹ ἐστὶν ὁ χρόνος μέτρον κινήσεως, Aristotle. Because time is a measure of movement.
Commentary 1
According to St Augustine the past and the future do not exist.
… praeteritum et futurum, quomodo sunt, quando et praeteritum iam non est et futurum nondum est…
… past and future how (can they) exist when the past exists no longer and the future does not yet exist.

If movement and all change ceased to exist, the measurement of Time would cease to exist as well. Without movement, without change no time.

Space-time in Relativity has four dimensions or measurements, three positions in space and time a measurement of movement in order to determine a phenomenon.
Commentary 4
Adjectives a-temporal (1609) and in-temporal (1794) are often used as synonyms. If we wish to differentiate them, the Greek privative ‘a’ could mean deprived of time, without movement, immobile whereas the Latin privative ‘in’ as in intemporal means deprived of time by nature, out of time, a stranger to time, eternal.

All that is material is temporal.
The universe is both material and temporal and also immaterial, out of time eternal.

The material and temporal being in immaterial and intemporal space cannot exist without Space.
According to esoteric philosophy Ether is the substance of divine nature which fills the whole of the Universe and is everywhere and in everything.

Space is empty, empty of matter so is it just non-matter.
Space is immaterial and eternal so could it be A-sat, the Non-being, the Divine.
In fact, That which is called God, is Space outside the person. This Space outside the person is clearly the same Space which is inside the person.
yad vai tad brahmetīdaṁ vāva tadyo’yam bahirdhā puruṣād ākāśo … ayaṁ vāva sa yo’yam antaḥ puruṣa ākāśo. Chāndogya Upaniṣad.
All beings arise from Space (Ether). They return to Space, as Space in effect existed before them and it is into Space that they finally disappear.
ākāśa … sarvāṇi ha vā imāni bhūtāny ākāśād eva samutpadyante, ākāśaṁ pratyastam yanty ākāśo hy evaibhyo jyāyān, ākāśah parāyaṇam. Chāndogya Upaniṣad.

The principal arts of time are music, dance and cinema.
Music is sequence of notes and sounds in time.
Dance is a sequence of steps and movement.
Cinema is a sequence of images.
In China the sounds in ancient sacred music are to underscore the silence which is divine.
In many religions Dance is sacred.
In Shivaism Shiva Natarâja, the dancing god, symbolises the creation of the Cosmos, its upholding in existence and then the end of its existence.
Literature and poetry can equally be regarded as temporal. Reading and speaking are in motion – their very existance. ‘I entrust to words the destiny of my dreams’, Mediation, Tennos Nallas. Poet.

Le temps n’est qu’une mesure, mais alors que mesure-t-il, quel en est le fondement.
Le fondement du temps est le mouvement, le changement.

Selon Saint-Augustin le passé et le futur n’existe pas.

… pasé et futur comment (peuvent-ils) exister quand et le passé n’est déjà plus et le futur n’est pas encore.

Si le mouvement, si tout changement cessait d’exister, la mesure de celui-ci, id est le Temps cesserait d’exister. Sans mouvement, sans changement pas de temps.

Dans la Relativité l’Espace-Temps a quatre dimensions ou mesures trois de position dans l’espace et une mesure de mouvement le temps afin de déterminer un phénomène.

Souvent on prend pour synonymes les adjectifs a-temporel (1609) et in-temporel (1794). Si l’on veut les distinguer, le privatif grec ‘a’ pourrait signifier privé de temps, sans mouvement, immobile tandis que le privatif latin ‘in’ dans intemporel signifierait privé de temps par nature, hors du temps, étranger au temps, éternel.

Les principaux arts du temps sont la musique, la danse et le cinéma.
Dans le cas de la musique, il s’agit d’une suite de notes, de sons dans le temps.

Quant au cinéma une suite d’images.
Dans la musique sacrée de l’ancienne Chine les sons sont là pour mettre en évidence le silence qui lui est divin.
Dans bien des religions, la Danse est sacrée.
